Oh dear. This blog post is a little wonky.

Week 3

  • How do you think Sprint 1 went - what did you bring up in your team’s Sprint Retrospective that was good, and that you want to improve on for Sprint 2?

Sprint 1 was okay! We were struggling a little because we didn’t know what was required. Something that went well was our constant communication - whether it be official (like standups and scheduled meetings), or more relaxed checkups (eg. on messenger).

For Sprint 2, we do want to try to do things before the deadline, and not have a scramble at the end. We have set soft deadlines for stuff in our sprint planning, such as MVP (sending an email with invoice) by the end of week 1 sprint 2, but it doesn’t look like it is happening. Taking into account the commitments we have outside SENG2021, it might be a scramble anyways.

  • How are you feeling about Sprint 2 / how is it going?

To be very honest, I haven’t started much of Sprint 2. I have been focusing on other courses, such as COMP3231, and have also been pretty busy in life. I’m feeling okay about it though - the requirement is that we have an MVP by the end, and it should be quite doable. It’s also been hard to find suitable meeting times because everyone has stuff on - eg. Josh is on his church retreat, I had a few doctor’s appointments, etc. etc.

  • What element of the project are you most excited / interested to be working on this Sprint?

Just seeing something work! Some kind of product!

  • It’s often nice to have a visual memory of something in the moment. Share a picture of you and your team in a meeting (can be online or in-person).
